Situated in an early 19th century farmhouse in south Deux-Sèvres, Atelier Pierre comprises the luthiery workshop, practice studio, and tutorial space, all housed within the farmhouse and adjoining building.
Pierre Isai, jobbing guitarist for 30 years, 25 years of teaching experience (most recently as peripatetic guitar teacher in Worcestershire, England), thirty years as guitar repairer and the last ten as professional independent luthier in the U.K., RGT registered tutor for 15 years and now settled in France as luthier and guitar tutor, established ATELIER PIERRE in 2005.
The workshop specialises in building, restoring and repairing contemporary guitars and in the construction of medieval stringed instruments (particularly gitterns and citoles). Training in luthiery is also a unique specialism born out of Pierre's joint passions for the guitar and education.
